Digital marketing for ecommerce brands
We help ecommerce brands bring in the right visitors, turn more of them into customers and measure it properly. We start with an audit, so the first thing you get is a clear list of what to fix.

What we do in digital marketing
4 services
PPC
PPC means paying for visits, usually per click. For an online store the main choices are search ads, Shopping ads and display ads. They do different jobs, and the right mix depends on your products, margins and tracking.

SEO
SEO makes your store easier for search engines to read and easier for customers to choose. We work in four layers: technical, on-page, content and AI search. Results build over months, and nobody can honestly promise a date or a position.

CRO
Conversion rate optimisation (CRO) is the work of getting more of your existing visitors to buy. It follows one pattern: research what is happening, form a hypothesis, then test the change. It starts with fixing obvious problems, not running tests.
3 services
Data and analytics
Most stores see different numbers in their ad platforms, GA4 and Shopify. That is normal, but it should be understood. Data and analytics work makes your tracking accurate, explains the differences and gives you reports you can act on.

Email marketing
Email is one of the few channels you own, because the list belongs to you, not a platform. It has two parts: campaigns you send on a date, and automations that send themselves when a customer does something.
How it fits together
Ecommerce marketing comes down to three questions. Are the right people finding your store? Do enough of them buy? Can you trust the numbers that tell you? The five areas on this page each answer part of that, and they work best when they are planned together.
Traffic, conversion and measurement
Traffic is how people arrive. PPC buys it, and SEO earns it over time. Email marketing brings back people who already know you, using a list that you own.
Conversion is what happens once they are on the site. Conversion rate optimisation looks at why visitors leave without buying, and fixes the biggest reasons first.
Measurement is how you know any of it is working. Data and analytics makes sure your tracking is accurate, so the ad platforms, your analytics and your sales figures can be compared with some confidence.
The order matters. Paying for more traffic when the store converts poorly, or when tracking is broken, is an expensive way to find out. That is why we usually look at measurement and conversion before we recommend spending more on ads.
How an audit works
The audit comes first, so you know what you are buying before you buy it.
- You tell us where you are. You share your site address, the channels you use and what you want to change, through the audit request form.
- We get access. Usually read-only access to your store, ad accounts and analytics. We only ask for what the audit needs.
- We review. We check tracking first, then how people find and move through your store, then each channel you already use.
- You get a findings deck and a follow-up call. It shows what is working, what is not and what we would fix first, in order, and we talk it through with you. You can act on it yourself or ask us to do it.
The first audit is free and top-level, reviewed by a subject matter expert at Advent, and we aim to send it within 5 working days of receiving access. An in-depth audit goes further.
Who this is for
This suits ecommerce brands that:
- already have a store that sells, even if sales are small
- want to understand where customers come from, not just receive a report
- are happy to invest over months, because most of this work builds over time
- would rather hear “fix this first” than “spend more”
Who this is not for
We are probably not the right fit if:
- the store is not yet ready to sell. Fix the products, prices and checkout first. Our web development work may be the better place to start
- you need guaranteed rankings, revenue or return on ad spend, because nobody honest can promise those
- you want a large team and a weekly meeting cycle, rather than subject matter experts and short reports
- the budget is too small for any channel to be tested properly. We will say so, rather than take your money
How we charge is explained on our pricing page. Ad spend is paid by you straight to the platforms, and is separate from our fees.
How we work
Every project is different, so timings depend on its size and complexity. You get a realistic timeline in writing before work starts, and we never promise results by a date.
Step 1: Audit
We look at your store, your channels, your spend and your tracking, and write down what is working, what is not and what to fix first.
Step 2: Agree priorities
We agree a short list of actions with you, what each is likely to involve and how we will tell whether it helped.
Step 3: Do the work
We make the changes in the order most likely to matter, starting with measurement and the basics that everything else depends on.
Step 4: Report and adjust
You get a plain-English summary of what changed and what we recommend next, including anything that did not work.
How we approach pricing
Retainers start from £500 per month and cover our services only. They do not include your ad spend, or any software or other subscription costs. One-off optimisation projects are priced by current need or an agreed hourly rate. Our pricing page has the detail.
Questions people ask
Where should a store start with digital marketing?
With the audit. It shows whether your biggest gap is traffic, conversion or measurement, and that decides what to do first. Starting with ads before tracking and the basic buying journey work usually wastes budget.
Do you guarantee rankings, sales or return on ad spend?
No. Search engines and ad platforms decide their own results, and many things outside our control affect sales. We can show you what is likely to help, do the work carefully and report honestly on what happened.
Can you work on a store you did not build?
Yes. We work on stores built by other people, as long as we can get the access we need to the store, ad accounts and analytics.
Do I need all five areas?
No. Most stores start with one or two. The areas support each other, so we will tell you which are worth adding and which can wait.
Who will I deal with?
The person doing the work. There is no account-manager layer between you and the specialist.
How do you report results?
In plain English, once a month, with the numbers that matter, what they mean and what we suggest next. We also explain where the numbers are uncertain.
